This is an all too familiar sight in The Stringing Room!
Having a grommet get brittle and break means that when your strings move, they rub against the sharp edge of the frame, where the hole has been drilled, and snap!!
With the aid of my RAB grommet grinder, I was able to pull out the base of the grommet left inside the frame, bore out the remnance left from the other side and insert a fresh single grommet.
The grommet was then cut to the correct length and the racquet was restrung.
You'd only know of the repair if you got close to it, and knew what you were looking for.
This small procedure came at NO COST to the customer, and he went away happy knowing that his racquet had been well looked after, and his stringer had gone that extra mile.
